Let’s get down to business – there are plenty of people who are unhappy with the appearance and functionality of their anus. The anus is part of our digestive system, but it’s also a sexual organ. It’s tough to reconcile the two roles – on one hand, feces come out of the anus, and on the other hand, the anus and rectum are supplied by the same nerves that transfer the pleasurable sensations from the clitoris, vagina, penis, scrotum, and prostate. The anus is an integral part of sex for many people, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, so now it’s time to shine a spotlight on anal rejuvenation and take the awkwardness out of the discussion.
First off, anal stimulation is not just for gay people or only men, for the anatomical reasons stated above. We all have anuses and can derive pleasure from anal stimulation. Anal penetration does not define someone as “gay,” and there is no shame in enjoying anal play.
The anus does take a toll since it’s used daily for excreting solid waste. The skin can look darker, wrinkled, and leathery from chronic wiping and friction, or even with the hormones of pregnancy. Fissures and hemorrhoids can develop from constipation. There may be outpouchings, skin tags, or even warts around the anus. The anal sphincter can feel looser and less sensitive as the elasticity declines with aging and mechanical stretching – similar to a vagina with menopause or after childbirth. The good news is that skin is skin, no matter where it’s located, so we know how to treat the anus. Depending on the problem, we can deploy lasers and other non-invasive treatments to retexturize, lighten, brighten, and tighten the skin and anal sphincter.
Anal bleaching is a real thing! Anal bleaching has been popular in Asia and Europe for years, has been gaining momentum in America. Starting with simple treatments, creams can be applied to slowly lighten and smooth the skin. For more rapid resolution, gentle chemical peels can be used. For simple tightening of the anal sphincter and overall increased sensitivity, Emsella is a revolutionary treatment that is comfortable, with no downtime. Emsella uses high intensity focused Electromagnetic Energy to create supramaximal contractions of the pelvic floor muscles, performing the equivalent of 12,000 Kegels in 30 minutes. Emsella is FDA cleared for the treatment of male and female incontinence and sexual health, and therapy has been shown to help with treating nerve damage from surgery for prostate cancer, and men report improved erections and greater anal sphincter control.
As we’ve been using lasers and Gainswave/shockwave therapy for the pelvic floor, and especially for penises in men, we’ve been working with lasers and shockwave therapy for anal nerves and sensitivity – stay tuned for our updates on new treatment protocols. Many women combine anal rejuvenation with vaginal rejuvenation, which we perform with Diva laser or IntimaLase or IncontiLase therapy. The labia can be plumped with filler injections, or smoothed, tightened, and lightened with lasers. These treatments can also be combined with the P-Shot for the penis, or the O-Shot and G-Shot for clitoris and G spot, using PRP or stem cells and exosomes.
For those who desire anal tightening along with overall skin rejuvenation, lasers are used to smooth, lighten, brighten, and tighten. We use lasers that target pigment if you want to lighten the skin that’s dark from chronic rubbing. We use lasers that target blood vessels if you hate the hemorrhoids and don’t want surgery.
If you don’t the wrinkles and crinkles, which can make the anus look “old,” we use gentle resurfacing lasers, which also strengthen the skin if it’s been torn or cracked. A series of treatments is recommended, since the anus is so sensitive. The downtime is minimal – you’d want to avoid anything rough in that area for a few days, but we want you to be comfortable pooping. Avoid spicy foods and stay hydrated and get enough fiber to make pooping easy.
A popular addition to anal rejuvenation is the Emsculpt, which is a treatment that builds the buttock muscles to create a buttlift and enhance the contour. One 30 minute session is equivalent to doing 24,000 lunges or squats – the Emsculpt is also very popular for carving out abs – it’s been shown to decrease the abdominal fat layer up to 24% after 4 sessions. For your butt, most people want to keep the booty juicy, so we do only the muscle building protocol.
If you want to plump up the booty even more, we use Sculptra or Radiesse, which are collagen-stimulating fillers. We inject Sculptra over several sessions, which helps to create and fill space, over time. Radiesse is an immediate and long-term build filler. If you want a more immediate lift, Threadlifts are placed in the top layer of the buttock skin – these are the same types of threads that we use in faces, to lift heavy wrinkles. Threads are placed in the butt to lift, project, and contour – you see some immediate lift, but even more as you build collagen over time. We use some laser devices for skin tightening and butt lifting as well – for people who just want better skin. And don’t forget about Botox injections to your butt and scrotum – Scrotox – this helps to decrease sweating and pimples down there. Anal Botox can also help to relax the sphincter muscle.
Confidence is sexy – and there’s never been a better time to take care of yourself “down there” – stay tuned for an update on non-surgical penis rejuvenation, and penis fillers and lasers!
